PRESS: UAC to recover 11 planes for Red Wings, Volga-Dnepr

MOSCOW, Jul 22 (PRIME) -- Three Russian airlines, namely Red Wings, Volga-Dnepr, and Aviastar-TU, are considering leasing three cargo and eight passenger planes that will be recovered by United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Vedomosti business daily reported on Friday.

The list includes one An-124, two Il-96-400T and eight Tu-204/214 planes.

Vedomosti also reported that the idea of the Industry and Trade Ministry to send 15.4 billion rubles for recovery of the aircraft was previously seen in the proposals of federal authorities to support the economy in the conditions of Western sanctions dated June 29, and the existence of the document was confirmed by a source close to the government.

A document mentioning the initiative was published in May on the state portal for legal acts. The draft envisaged allocation of no more than 90% of the entire support sum, or 13.86 billion rubles, for recovery of flight worthiness of 11 aircraft until 2024.
